Stop Throwing Your Words Around!!!
Why do people think they can just say anything they want and not have any backlash? I wonder if anyone told them that words are powerful or that although they are invisible their sting can last a life time. Words can be a weapon of destruction or a mantle of peace. It is up to the person to decide if they want to speak "life or death". If you are one of those people with a loose tongue. And you know who you are. Here is an exercise for you to try. It is called "complimenting". Everytime you feel yourself wanting to say something negative about someone or something, gently bite your tongue. Instead of letting that nasty comment come out, control yourself by saying something positive. Don't lie or go for some big exaggerated thing to say, just let something sweet roll gently off of your tongue. It doesn't even have to be about that person or thing you were about to comment on in the first place. Just look out the window or around you and find something good to speak about. This world is so gorgeous, so I am sure you'll find something! Now, start off slow. Try doing a compliment a day for your first week, then move it up to two a day your second week. Things will certainly get better the more and more you try. They say if you can manage to do something seven times in a row, it can easily become a habit. Remember, change starts with you. So change the easiest thing you can and that is your choice of words. (Heck you don't even have to break a sweat or wake up extra early to do it). By the way, did I mention how beautiful you are today? Well you are!
